EDI Getting Started (1).pdf

Requirements & Master Files

  1. A Mailbox Account with one of the following supported VANS: Loren Data, OpenText, GXS, Inovis, Nu-bridges, etc.
  2. A ZPL supported Label Printer (e.g., Zebra, Datamax) for UCC128 Carton Labels, if applicable. A licensed copy of Label Matrix Power Pro is recommended.
  3. Assign a user familiar with EDI and respective trading partner requirements.

Initial To Do

  1. Acquire an EDI mailbox from a Value-Added Networks (VAN) partner. No additional software purchase from the VAN is required for A2000, as direct SFTP/FTPS/AS2 connections are supported.
  2. Apply for a Prefix number from the UCC Council (www.GS1.org) to institute UPC numbering.
  3. Join the NRF Council (National Retail Federation – nrf.com) for codes for colors and sizes.

Setting Up a New EDI Partner

  1. Customer needs to supply:

Each Trading Partner assigned Vendor Number can have only one EDI Alias record in A2000. If you have more than one vendor number for different companies in your group, then a separate record in A2000 has to be created for each one. Your receiver IDs will be different for the same trading partner in A2000. Submit the A2000 Customer code(s) and the Vendor Number for the trading partner to A2000 support with the initial application.

EDI Alias Master Set Up

Required for Rel 23 or greater EDI Control Panel Processing. As of Rel 23, EDI Sales Order Processing has been discontinued and the enhanced EDI Control Panel is the sole way to process EDI. When upgrading from a previous release, ensure that the EDI ALIAS Masters are set up properly for their environment. The user can update and change the EDI Alias as needed. Most items can be double-clicked for a list to appear and a selection can be made. Save your changes when done.

WAL-MART

For Wal-Mart, an AS2 type mailbox or an SFTP translation service like Loren Data is required. A2000 can provide AS2 Mailboxes as an add-on service for cloud users.
