Duplicate G/L Accounts

G/L→Maintenance→Duplicate G/L Accounts

The A2000 GL Account Duplication program is provided for those installations maintaining more than one active Corporation on the system with matching General Ledger account numbers. The use of this feature is beneficial in reducing repetitive keying of General Ledger Coding.

The Chart of Accounts duplication program is simple and straightforward. The user enters the Code for the Corporation with the Chart of Accounts to be copied from in the Corporation COPY FROM FIELD, followed by the code representing the new Corporation in the COPY TO CORP FIELD. Selecting the PROCESS button runs the procedure.

From the MAINTENANCE MENU select DUPLICATE GL ACCOUNTS. The Copy GL Accounts form appears on the screen. Enter the COPY FROM and COPY TO Corporation Codes representing the associated entries and press PROCESS.

Note: The Corporation Codes used in this feature must exist in the Corporation Master. The system will not overwrite any coding previously entered into a Chart of Accounts for the Corporation being copied to. The user may use this option to standardize account numbers between corporations and manually enter Corporation specific account numbers in the Chart of Accounts master file if applicable.
